Hey, Let's Go Outback

Hey Hi Hello, and a warm welcome lets just skip the lengthy introductions and get into todays post...FOOD.

A couple weeks back my friend and I got together for a good chat over lunch...I had been fasting for lent so I was keen to get some seafood in my system. We tried Parramatta's 'Eat Street' Church Street, but failed to find anything that tantalised our taste buds. So after a moment of thought we looked at each other knowingly and left parramatta for Outback.

Entree: Ahi Tuna and Prawn Medley

Main: Grilled Salmon side dish; Sweet Potato

Dessert: Chocolate Thunder

The Prawn medley was so good, the mixture of flavours from all three dishes complemented each other. The Coconut Prawns on the bottom left of the picture were a pleasant surprise, prawns covered in a crispy coconut batter with a side of wasabi orange marmalade...YUM! The saviour of the dish was the wasabi orange marmalade it added more flavour and also for someone who is not that fond of coconut it made the taste and texture more ingestible (I don't like the texture of coconut).

The Grilled Prawns with a smokey flavour on a bed of cherry tomatoes and basil have been an all time favourite of mine and having them on this occasion just solidified my love for them. Popcorn Prawns are lightly battered and coated in chilli mayonnaise, these were also delicious, these used to be my favourite until I was introduced to the Grilled Prawns.

Ahi Tuna spiced with bold flavour and seared rare served with a side of what tasted like a mixture of soy and fish sauce this was my favourite dish from our entire dinning experience. Being my first time having Ahi Tuna and I have to say is that it was AHMAZING. The bold spices erupted in my mouth from the first bite...I was blown away. This is a must try for all who dine at Outback Steakhouse, during lunch, if the thought of rare tuna makes you slightly I say don't be. If you're a fan of smoked salmon and cured meats this is definitely something you've got to get on your fork.

Grilled Salmon for main with a side of in house tartar sauce and garlic aioli ( requested)...First things first crispy skin yes I'm here for it! The salmon was so good, after my first bite I lent back in my seat and just appreciated what was happening in my mouth 😂 . My side of sweet potato was the bomb.com and some, the sweet potato is like a jacket potato but they add brown sugar, honey butter and cinnamon which melts into the sweet potato, yeah I know sounds soo good right! If you go to Outback Steakhouse you should order yourself the sweet potato.

The Chocolate Thunder, dessert of desserts in dessert...WOW. They say this is a chocolate lovers dream and that is the truth. It may come as a surprise but the star of the dish is the vanilla ice cream, it is rich and creamy balancing out the chocolate overload from the pecan brownie and sauce. This is a classics Outback Steakhouse dessert and the best of all the desserts. Perfect for sharing or indulging alone...after a three course meal I'd say share but if you're just here for dessert then indulge alone...you wont regret it I promise.

Outback Steakhouse was good to us, if you'd like to take a trip Outback Steakhouse they are located through out Sydney (Campbelltown, Penrith, Strathfield, Wentworthville, Wollongong)...End.
